LFW AW17 Round-Up

palmer//harding

Exploring Palmer’s Texan past, this fab deign duo delved into a more Gothic silhouette for their autumn/winter 2017 collection. Ever impressed by the set and staging, they had a models weaving their way though blackened wood chips in daring and distorted tailoring and clever layering that created new and abstract shapes. Many items gaped in the back with rear fastenings and buttoned edges. but still sporting stylish stilettos. Goth-Glam.

A rich mix of fabrics in predominantly black and white palette was broken up with a soft orange, mundane blue, green and soft pink. A collection that presented a fascinating mash of drama, sensuality and edge!

On|Off

On|Off has showcased some of the most exciting emerging international fashion designers over the past years. They have exceptional taste and a unique vision for emerging and independent talent capable of delivery collections of great innovation, creative vision and quality.

This year they had the pleasure of presenting Timothy Bouyez Forge, Luke Anthony Rooney & Jack Irving. With diverse designers, it was an interesting mix on the catwalk but possibly the most fun I have ever had at a show as the inflatable fashion pieces grazed me on the way down.

Some of my favourites all week.

Fashion Scout // INIFD - LST

Styled with fishnet tights and Adidas trainers, the graduate students of the International Institute of Fashion Designing have a clear individual take to their collections and clear ion contemporary Indian fashion.

The dedication to Indian craft came through in the use of embroidery, embellishment and fabrics, and the students showed impressive skill, which was overwhelmingly evident on every single inch of the garments. My favourite, a series of gowns so dramatic they could rival Marchesa! WOW!

Hope you enjoyed.

Fur Gilet Zara / Duster - Primark / Skirt - Oasis / Jumper - H&M

Outfits may look a little over-the-top and totally intimidating during fashion week, but actually some of my street style favourites have been super simple - jeans, jackets, boots. February mirrored New York on the weather front with a flurry of snow fall early last week, but that’s not to say you have to be miserably freezing to fit in with the fashion pack! The go-to?! A statement coat.

This seasons embraces our animal instincts as everyone reaches out for their biggest coat. The puffier or furrier* the better, and I have made no exceptions. Last weekend I opted for this fab fur gilet to top my duster which you may have seen me sporting back in summer, along with this gorgeous Oasis skirt (who said clothes can’t be versatile.) Teamed with boots and a jumper …and a million other hidden layers, this makes the perfect go-to outfit.

In the meantime stay tuned for all things London Fashion Week on my social platforms....

Here a few snap shots from the end of another fashion season. It's been a rather exciting one with a series of events, shows and exciting opportunities, much of which is shared on most of my social platforms.
For now its back to digging out the winter essentials. Warm and cosy knits are where its at ;)

September - Burberry LFW

Twice a year, a frantic wave of exhilaration and activity consumes a small portion of the world. It invokes that all too familiar feeling of feverish excitement and anticipation for the whirlwind that is fashion week.

Every season is as intoxicating as the last and will be the source of endless inspiration through an imaginative mix of shapes, lines, colours, textures, themes….

Fashion week is a truly unique experience! One that I try my hardest to fully immerse myself in. By the end has me bubbling with reams of motivation and endless streams of creativity.

Burberry //

The ~~SS17~~ September collection is unlike another. In a digital world, Burberry is leading the way in a new era of instant fashion with a “see-now, buy-now” collection.

In the spirit of change they hosted this years collection in Makers House, a disused bookshop hidden within the side streets of Soho. Led by an orchestra, models made their way down the opulent olive carpet, wrapped in a divinely decadent collection. Surprising with such a quick turnaround time.

“Thoughts are divine”

Soft furnishings made for impressive detailing, with curtain tassel coats, carpet printed pyjama silks and pastel velvets. Led by themes in the novel Orlando, this is an almost gender fluid collection, designed to accept garments for what they are with ruffles, military finishes and elaborate prints applied across all pieces.

Burberry has completely changed my thoughts and feelings towards the brand within the minutes that it took to unveil a single collection.

(Belated) Fashion Week Kisses,
Tan xx
