An intriguing detail is the slit, that has featured on skirts and dresses pretty consistently through several seasons now. There’s a reason for that! 
Pattered or plain, it looks particularly seductive and refined, with a touch of mystery. The summer breeze plays flirtatiously with the fabric in the wind, as it flashes a little leg. Quite remarkable actually, how regardless of the length its always stylish. Maxi just does it for me though. 
Dependent on your shape, varying styles will suit you, so rule out nothing and always have fun with it. Never know, you may actually like something other than the usual pencil skirt… I did!
I’ve gone monochrome with this one, but there's nothing stopping you from playing with a little colour here. Adds a little more playfulness and interest to the overall feel of the outfit. You will have also seen this one worn in Italy a few years ago, here. I’m living by my “Buy Less, Choose Well” mantra, saving some pretty pennies and the planet in the long run.

Postcards from Barcelona

For those of you that may have missed it, I spent the last week in Barcelona with some of my closest friends (who just so happen to be family)! Doesn’t get better than that right?!
The days made such an impression on me thanks to the beauties and wonders that are Barcelona’s people, streets and architecture….. as did the food and sangria for whole other reasons!
Now back, a shade of two darker, I’m ready and rearing to go, but not before sharing a few of my favourite snaps from my time away…

Lace Shorts - Zara // Blue Shirt - H&M 

Sadly, this outfit no longer apples to the interest of readers from the UK considering the state of the weather the last few days. (Don’t worry though, BBC weather tells me it’s set to improve). Since these photos were taken, I've added long length trousers and a cardi at the least.
Digital photos have that wonderful ability to be preserved, there's no harm in leaving them for a bit.
Much like these white shorts. Timelessly trimmed with eyelash lace, they are the perfect holiday piece that can be adapted and styled to suit day and night occasions. Dressed with a dependable blue cotton shirt only helps to prove my point.
