There are admittedly a few things in the world that I absolutely cannot live without and along with travelling, the build up at atmosphere that follows this month is one. 
As the fashion month buzz begins a few thousand miles away in New York, it's always inevitably exciting and highly addictive. The closest its comes to words is being a small child in a city made of candy....now you find me a kids that wouldn't Love that! Not possible, I Know!

A huge hurrah to all the big name bloggers that survive a manic month. A fast paced frantic dash between shows, events, presentations and posts. Hands up to the amazingly talented designers that spend months creating wondrous art forms, only to feature on the catwalk for mere minutes. 
If you've ever been backstage (or seen my snapchat @tani911), you'll know how hours pass by in seconds and its 7 people to one model when it comes close to show time. The work that goes into garments, shows, presentations, style is simply unimaginable, and I leave with a seasons worth of inspiration.

Is it any surprise I'm anything other than awed every season?!

The Lure of a Blanket

Its not often that fashion hands you both style and comfort in one fell swoop, but blanket scarves are an exception. Warm, Cosy and Bank on-trend, these beauties have received the blogger seal of approval year in and year out come the cold weather. 

Aside from being generously snug, they are an easy way to instantly update your winter wardrobe. Found in bold colours, prints and other accessories they look great with the simple staples like black jeans, white tee or a simple dress, which is what I opted for, for a more feminine feel.

I love a bit of tartan, so when I saw that this also doubled up with houndstooth on the reverse I couldn't let it go. Can't beat a two in one - I've definitely fooled a few people with some clever folding.

I wouldn't consider myself constrained by fashion, but I like most have those days where I just fancy a change. Big or small, just something...

Last year is happened to be a big change, with drastically shorter locks than usual. It was something I thought about for years before actually taking the plunge, and I don't think I'm quite brave enough to be quite so bold this time so a subtle change it was.

I've been playing around with contact lenses and absolutely love this two-toned hazel variation. I'll admit they take a little getting used to a first (it is an alien object sat on your eyeball) but they are super fun and can completely change your face.

Sun. Sea. Sand. Fish & Chips! 

Dreaming?! I think not. This is exactly what I got up down at Mount Martha with Cara and Amy.
We welcomed in the new year by the ocean. Swimming in aqua blue waters. Gazing at sensational sunsets. Piecing together impossible puzzles. (Mindfully colouring for Cara).

Having spent the last few months filling every second of my time with an item from the never ending to-do list it was time to escape. And escape I did!! ….for a whole 5 weeks! 
I’ve returned with a new lease of energy but have realised that our new modern day lifestyle is fatally flawed. We no longer allow ourselves to sit back and relax. Enjoy the company of the people around you and just… exist! 

Call it a resolution if you will, but this is a mindset i’ll be adopting more often.
