Sunday Polish - Bloody Halloween!

Barry M - Black
Essie - Really Red

With Halloween nearly upon us, I thought I would co-ordinate a relevant nail feature for this weeks #SundayPolish
I've always wanted to try two tone faded polish, and this was my chance.
Red & Black for a 'bloody' inspired effect.
Start with a black nail base and using a cheap makeup sponge, dab on red nail varnish starting from the tips of the nails and working down till about half way.
Simple as that, looks great and super easy.

Happy Spooking ;)

Fragrant Favourites

My perfume collection.
I am somewhat particular when it comes to those all important fragrances. It takes a while for me to find that something special, and I guess you can tell which ones I've had the longest. ;)
Perfume for me adds that extra special touch no matter what the occasion. My going out scents therefore, are those I also rely on for everyday. But I guess as much as I would like to tell myself its all about the scents, I can't deny the beauty that is the bottle it comes in.

My go to scents are light and floral with a hint of sweetness (to too sickly mind!). I like little elegant, almost musty punches....nothing too strong but enough to be noticeable.

The collection so far consists of:
Vera Wang - Princess
Nina - Nina Ricci
Flowerbomb - Viktor & Rolf
Chanel - Chance eau Tendre

Sunday Polish - No. 7

No.7 Midnight Blue
Rimmel - Soul Session

Ultra modern nails inspired by Estee Lauder.
First of all isn't the Rimmel Soul Session Polish just gorgeous?! Three coats of this would make a great opaque nude, or just one or two coats (like here) for a finer, slightly transparent finish.
The dots at the base create a uber stylist but elegant and simplistic finish.....they are equally easy to create. Link many of you out there, I do not own a dotting tool and therefore rely on the rounded end of a bobby pin. Dip the end in a little polish, and 'dot' onto the nail in the desired spot. Simple as that, I Promise!

The Culotte

Shirt - Zara
Culottes - Asos
Pumps - Dorothy Perkins

Autumn postings begin.
It's that perfect time of year that provides the perfect excuse to cosy up to long weekends tucked under the duvets with laptop and cream topped hot chocolate in tow! Could there be anything better?!!
For now though, time to make the most of the milder days and keep the comfy culottes to hand. Dress up or down, you decided because lucky enough, they work both ways ;)

Sunday Polish - Nails Ruled

I recently purchased nail tape (aka striping tape) from eBay, which you may have noticed in last weeks Sunday Polish "Matte Cubed"..... Love the stuff! Its such a versatile tool when it comes to straight edged designs or more intricate nail art.
Off to a Mehndi night, I wanted to keep things simple, but still 'me' so I opted for a nude base with a ruled silver edge, and what can I say,

These nails Ruled!!

P.S. Quick tip: Cut the top and bottom ends of the tape a little shorter than the actual nail. It should sit just above the bottom edge of nail varnish, and just below the tips of your nails.
Also apply a little extra top coat at each end to hold the tape down for a longer lasting finish.

Co-Ordinate

Sorry guy’s I’ve had one of those crazy weeks, so I’m keeping things short & sweet . . .

Anyone in London will surely agree that we have been extremely lucky weather wise, and determined to enjoying every last minute of summer sunshine before having to hide behind mountainous layers of fabric.

My special custom pieces from Malawi are endless.
Out in the middle of nowhere, it seems I subconsciously pre-empted the recent obsession with cute coordinates, this outfit being one of my fav’s… by far!
This proved to be a prefect day-to-night look for a day with the girls.

Kisses,

Tan xx
