Engineering an "It" bag

Ever felt that sheer annoyance when your barged past, by that rude annoying person wearing a bright velour tracksuit, trainers and a huge Louis Vuitton bag?!
Rest assured, Louis Vuitton shares your views.

They are concerned that their image is being diluted by this stereotypical "Chav" view of their product, and the type of customer see in to be carrying it. They've not actually made a statement, but instead seem to have followed suit along with may other big names.
What I hear you ask? They're going luxe with a super exclusive "It" bag!
The Capucine bag, which costs up to £3,250, is made of full-grain Taurillon calf-leather, the same as the Hermes Birkin, most exclusive handbag in the world. While a logo version does appear in the campaign, it will be one of the hardest versions to snap up, as most have only have a small Louis Vuitton Paris stamp.

After executing a winning marketing strategy, and their Michelle Williams campaign stirring up a buzz, it was the cherry on the cake when Angelina Jolie was photographed carrying the bag.

Louis Vuitton have been rumored to be employing Hermes tactics of "drip feeding" the bag to stores, releasing very few to ensure wait lists, but with the Capucine sold out in most stores worldwide it sounds like a resounding success.

Whether it's going to be 2014's next must have It bag, I guess we just have to wait and see....

P.S Enjoy the New Year's Eve Celebrations x

Sunday Polish: Shape it

Essie - Bobbing for Baubles
Essie - Ole Caliente
Silver Spriping Tape

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and enjoying these relaxing few days in the lead up to New Year!

If ever there was a time to go bold and make a statement its definanetly for new year, and I have just the thing to do it!

I ordered some nail stiping tape which finally arrived before christmas and this was my first attempt. There's loads of cool things you can do with striping take and you don't have to go through the fiddely job of cutting your own strips. They are easy to use once you get the hang of it, however I suggest cutting them off a little shorter than the edges of the nails. This will make sealing the edges with top coat a lot easier, preventing the strips from lifting.

Enjoy

My Parisian Adventure!

Time to share with you a few snaps from my trip to Paris.

Off to see a friend, lucky me got to see a very Christmas-y Paris and it was beautiful.
How else is best to explore a new place, other than in the company of friends, which is just what I did. Although having an amazing time probably had more to do with Lara than anything else, it has left me wanting more!
I love London, but who knows, it could one day be home?!

Sunday Polish: Glitter Snowflakes

Glitter Polish
Star Nails - Base Coat
Essie - Pink Glove Service
Spangles Nail Art Pen - White

Ok, so I realise this isn't the most flattering of polishes I'd done, nor the best executed, but I love them so much I just had to post!

I wanted something subtle. A polish that wouldn't obviously highly any chips or flaw, which are unavoidable during the festive hustle and bustle (mainly focused in the kitchen if your round ours....we're big foodies!), so I've gone for a nude base with white sparkly snowflakes.

I started with Start Nails base coat, which is a lovely natural pale, matte pink, followed by two coats of Essie Pink Glove Service. The using Spangles nail art pen in White, I painted on the snowflakes design. This part was very fiddly so make sure you have a steady hand and plenty of time!
To finish, on when one more coat of Essie and a thin coat of a glitter polish, similar to OPI's Which is Witch? form the Disney's Oz the Great and Powerful collection.

Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow....

Sunday Polish - Gift Wrapped

Essie - Head Mistress
Spangles - Gold Nail Art Pen

It has been a very busy week and without my phone it's not been as easy to post, but watch out because my Parisian adventure is still yet to come.

For now I have yet another Sunday polish, festively Christmas themed of course!

Keeping things simple with my absolute favourite Essie red, I've added two lines of gold striping, inspired (you guessed it!) by my love of present wrapping!
This is pretty simple and very easily adaptable to suit everyone....you can change colours and add the design to all nails, maybe just three, or even one like mine. Just have fun with it!

Sunday Polish - Essie Luxedo

Essie - Luxedo

These were done just before leaving for Paris on Thursday. I was torn between this and a red, but I love this polish, and chose it mainly because it goes with absolutey everything, which is a must when on holiday!

Luxedo has a lovely rich plum base clearly visible in sunlight, but other wise appears to be a slightly tinted soft black.

As with all dark colours, be extra carful when applying, but don't worry because it is surprisingly easy to remove, leaving nails unstained unlike most dark polishes.

Bisou (kisses) from Paris

Little Extras

Posting from Paris today and it's not got off to a great start after losing my phone within an hour of arriving, but I'm going to try and not let it ruin my trip.

Christmas is my favourite holiday and I get to spend it here in Paris with an amazing friend, soaking up the holiday atmosphere.
With the party season now in full swing, it's time I let you into a little secret.....the easiest party update isn't necessarily a new outfit, but as simple as how you choose to dress it up.

My winter go to this year is red nails, pearl/diamond stud earrings, sheer seamed hosiery and a dash of my favouite Viktor & Rolf perfume.

Party Time!

Sunday Polish - Going Gold & Green

Essie - Going Incognito
Milani - Gold

It's the first of December and I thought it would be nice to kick off the start of the festive season with a christmas inspired Sunday Polish.

This was done a while back on a friend but it's perfect for Christmas, with a 'tree-green' and sparkly gold. This is a subtle twist on nails should you prefect something a little understated compared to outlandishly bold nail art. Not only that it looks very pretty :)

Enjoy your 1st of December!

P.S. Happy Birthday to the Best Mum in the World!! Love You x
